Fish and Chips

Well, as you've heard before I've been to Europe multiple times but on my second trip we went to France, England and Spain. Of course while in England I had to try the common staple, fish and chips. Now, I have never been a big fan of sea food until recently and eating fish and chips was my first experience with sea food. I had heard about it before and just the thought of fish at this moment in my life made me want to vomit but I was in Europe so I convinced myself to take a risk.

England was actually our first country we visited and I had been looking forward to it for a long time. My sister had already been and I had seen pictures of her all around London. When we arrived, it was only eleven am so we had a day filled with activities. I was exhausted from the flight, which was eight hours, but still wanted to start exploring. We first checked in at the hotel, and after that we took off on our first walking tour. It was super exciting and we got to see a lot in just a short amount of time! By the end of the day though we were all extremely tired and hungry. We had a dinner reservation already set up and then I heard the dreaded news: we had to eat fish and chips. I was so disappointed at first, I was starving and just wanted some good food. After some convincing from my friends, I decided to give it a chance. They brought out the serving and I could smell the fish. My nose autimatically crinkled at the smell but I told myself to try it, and I was determined.

I bravely lifted the fried fish to my lips and took a small bite, I didn't know what to expect but before I knew it the whole plate was gone! I loved it! It was like chicken strips but better, the fish was warm and flakey. To this day I'm not sure if my starvation had anything to do with my love for fish and chips, but I still enjoy it! Since then, my sea food palet has increased to lobster, crab, and more! Trying new foods can be scary, but it can also open a brand new set of flavors to enjoy!
